Terms & Conditions

Before you participate in the Profile Me competition, it is important that you understand “how to enter” and the terms and conditions of entry:

By submitting an entry to Profile Me (“the Competition”), you agree to the following Terms and Conditions:

  1. Information on “how to enter” forms part of these terms and conditions. By participating, entrants agree to be bound by these guidelines. Any entrants under the age of 18 must have permission from a parent or legal guardian to enter.
  2. The Competition commences on Friday 8 February 2013 at 9am AEST and ends on Wednesday 20 February 2013 at 5pm AEST (the “Competition Period”).
  3. One (1) profile can be submitted per person.
  4. Due to the nature of the project, some questions may be considered intrusive. Competition entrants do not need to answer all questions to enter the Competition. If you don’t answer all questions, your entry will still be valid.
  5. The Australian Centre for the Moving Image (hereafter referred to as “ACMI”) has permission to reproduce submitted profiles, inclusive of the entrant’s full name to the Profile Me ‘hub’ located at http://profile-me.acmi.net.au/.
  6. A total of four (4) profiles submitted to the competition will be selected by the participating artists.
  7. One (1) profile will be selected per participating artist.
  8. By submitting your profile or entry you are granting ACMI permission to publish and reproduce your profile details (including your answers and your photograph or image), resulting profile artist image, and your name or User Name. This includes, but is not limited to, reproduction on ACMI Sites (this means any .acmi.net.au domain) and affiliate websites including ACMI Facebook pages, the ACMI Blog, and in the ACMI e-newsletter and other print publications.
  9. Profile Me is open to both Australian and international submissions, with the exception of ACMI employees and their immediate families, who are all ineligible to enter.
  10. Competition closes Wednesday 20 February 2013 at 5pm AEST.
  11. The decision of ACMI in relation to any aspect of the Competition including determining the competition winner will be final and will be binding on every person who enters the Competition. No correspondence will be entered into.
  12. Prize: The winning entrants will receive a copy of the digital profile created by the participating artist, provided as a digital file, together with a limited licence for personal use.
  13. The copyright on the resulting digital ‘artworks’ will be retained by the participating artists.
  14. Winning entrants will not receive any cash payment, and prizes are not transferable or exchangeable and cannot be taken as cash.
  15. The competition winners will be notified by email by a representative of ACMI and the names of the winners will be published in ACMI’s social media channels, or, if relevant, via the Profile Me hub.
  16. Entrants who do not wish their name published must provide an alternative User Name on the entry form. Please note if you are under 18, only your first name and your age will be published by ACMI.

  18. Email addresses will be used by ACMI solely for the purpose of conducting this promotion and will not be disclosed to a third party. Further information on ACMI’s Privacy Policy is available at http://www.acmi.net.au/privacy.htm
  19. ACMI reserves the right to exclude any entries or profiles from this promotion  at its sole discretion for reasons that may include, but are not limited to, the inclusion of unlawful, obscene or defamatory content, or the inclusion of private information of a third party.
  20. The promoter of the Competition is the Australian Centre for the Moving Image (ABN 37 375 237 227) an entity established under the Film Act 2001 (Vic) and having its registered office at the Alfred Deakin Building, Federation Square, Corner Swanston and Flinders Streets, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, Australia (“ACMI”).
  21. To the extent permitted by law, ACMI shall not be liable for any loss, or damage whatsoever (including but not limited to direct or consequential loss) or personal injury suffered or sustained in connection with this promotion.
