Hello Sister Hayes.
I do like your creativeness.
Here’s some answers to stuff you’d like to know:
What did you (or do you) want to be when you grow up?
A ballerina fairy. Not much has changed.
How many siblings do you have and what is your birth order (oldest, middle child, youngest, only child)?
1 sibling and I am the eldest child (oh the pressures! oh the rules I had to break!)
Are you doing what you love with your life? Why or Why not?
Sort of. I would play with more paper full-time if it would give me more money to I could buy more paper to play with so i could get more money. Alas! The cycle begins.
What is your favourite hobby or past time? Is this something you prefer to do alone or with others and why?
I like to make stuff out of paper and I tend to do it alone mostly although I don’t think I prefer that. I share my making with others through workshops or crafty circles. I’m a bit moody so sometimes I do like to create on my own.. it helps me think. Sorry… I’m a bit of a contradiction.
What is the most embarrassing song on your iPod that you do not want to delete?
End of the Road by Boyz II Men… and yes I still know every word and sing it loud.
Describe an important place to you. Include things like what season or time of day it is. Also let us know of any important smells or colours you associate with that place.
My important place is our family’s holiday home in Daylesford… especially in winter when it’s all cosy over a cup of tea and the fog settles in and just sits looming throughout the day. The smell of wet, of fresh earth and the sharpness of the crisp breeze on your face and in your lungs. All is green and grey but oh so beautiful.
What three things do you ‘feel you need’ to carry with you (other than your phone, wallet or keys)?
Lipbalm, sunglasses (even in winter) and tissues.
What fictional character do you most identify with and why?
Amelie… her wonder of the world, her love of skipping stones and her insatiable desire to put her hand in a bag of dry lentils. THAT’S ME!
What book OR movie do you enjoy reading/watching over and over again?
The dark crystal. word for word. scene for scene. over and over.
Describe something you wear that makes you feel confident, happy or powerful.
A beautiful filigree necklace that was my grandma’s – this piece of jewellery actually makes me feel all 3 whenever I wear it. Like a little piece of her is with me all day.
